Since I just went thru allot of trouble over another CR, I can honestly say, as long as you do not copy it yourself but just look online at the info, it's OK. A link is not copyright protectable [is that a word?] Furthermore, a copyright expires after 7 years. This is very old stuff so chances are.... nope! I do appreciate your concern. You should ask Jodie about the other thing

Thank you for your reply, I'm not really sure what you mean when you say ask Jodie about the other thing since it was me that removed the link and edited your post however I will discuss this with her later and I'm not entirely sure about copyright expiring after 7 years, in addition to that although I follow what you say about copyright and links we don't know that whoever uploaded this on the net had permission from the author to do so but once I have discussed this with Jodie I will get back to you Lea

I was going to mail this privately but decided it was good info for all. This is a quote from Aparna Iyer on Buzzle.com www.buzzle.com/articles/how-long-does-a-copyright-last.html"In the UK..... Typographical arrangement that covers the style, composition, layout and appearance of a published work is protected by copyright laws for 25 calendar years from the date of publication." I am going to assume that any BMLC publication made on or before 1985 is fair game. And I still think anyone is free of conviction if they only post the link to a publication. One more interesting thing I noticed. Each page of the manual has "Not for resale" stamped on it (in German of course) So this manual was likely distributed to authorised dealers/garages free of charge and not for public sale. Sorry about my mistake 7 years is for patents, duh.

lets try and share all the written info we can . If this is a problem I can set up a new web address to use as a depository if you like. I just host the website in "somewhereelse" they dont care about it like former soviet republics and other eastern europe countries. This is the way we also get to read about the local court goings on which have been subject to a suppression order in the local media. NZ Police can't to much if some random website in a dodgy country releases details on the web of things that are not supposed to be discussed. ( to explain , a lot of sickos , child molesterers etc have been found guilty but given permanent name supression from the NZ courts by friendly judges)
