With huge regret, I'm having to sell my Mini Mayfair 1.3i single point Automatic. I've owned the car for about 9 years. When I bought it from it's first owner, the car had covered only 15,000 miles. The mileage now stands at 40,000.
It's a lovely Charcoal Grey metalic - standard Rover colour, and has the sumptious grey velour interior, standard Rover fitted walnut dash, and has the original radio cassette player and original wheel trims. The only addition I have made is to fit a set of four matching walnut door caps.
I have during my ownership of this car, mainly used it as a second car. I have had the automatic gearbox rebuilt (receipts available), about four years ago as the gearbox would 'flare up - increased rev's as it selected top gear. I have found - thanks to this site - that the type of oil used can affect this.
Now the bad points; The MOT expired in January. The bodywork is probably good to very good speaking in terms of its overall soundness and compared to many new Minis which I have looked at and seem to have rusted in areas where this Mini remains sound. However the o/s A' Panel does need replacing, the bottom of both doors are bubbling, there are signs of rust in the windscreen surround and the rear valance closing panel also is showing signs of rust.
It is only due to my personal circumstances that I have sadly decided to sell the car, and ideally I would like the car the go to an automatic Mini enthusiast; I have loved and owned many automatic Minis and looked for ages before buying this one as it is one of the last year of UK spec' produced cars available with the automatic transmission - which as I'm sure you will know was deleted as an option when the twin point airbag model was launched in late 96' although remained available to Japanese export models thereafter.
I am based in County Durham and would welcome viewings. I am happy to email pictures - I will try to work out how to upload some on here too.
If you would like to ring me to discuss the car further, my number is 077584 59 729.
Thanks, Roger.
