I have to agree its very disturbing and worrying the amount of Minis being stolen at present I really do believe they are being stolen to order The worrying thing is more so than other cars it seems that when a mini gets stolen more often than not it will never be found Theres soo many Minis you see at shows claiming to be early tax exempt Mk3,s and you know too well they are often Mk 4,s onwards with a earlier identity So a stolen Mini could easily turn back up on the scene wearing new paint, new vin,and new plates its shocking but i believe deep down some of those early Mk 3,s that are so obviously not could very well be stolen minis that disappeared of the face of the earth i also wouldn't be surprised if these stolen Minis get broken up for spares? Many Mini Engines wore their engine ID on a riveted plate it would be easy i guess to"Ring" a stolen engine with the ID from a Blown engine??? The saddest thing is though they are obviously being stolen by somebody who knows their worth, that points to somebody connected to the mini scene The only thing we can do is be more vigilant and make our pride and joys more difficult for the thieves to steal. It makes me sick to think that people you see at minis shows could very well be in a ringed stolen car or selling stolen parts that somebody else has worked hard for I really hope this lovely Mini is found safe and sound and we must do all we can to stop this being a regular occurrence as its fast becoming Jodie
