Hello all, I'm danny and i'am metro nuts! Me and my dad are restoring a 1988 metro 1.3 autoL thats in a nice metallic azure blue. It has roughly 88,000 miles on the clock and we are half way into the resto. I'm in my teens and i love love metro's, there like my life. My dad has a second metro which is also from 1988, it is a 88 metro vdp auto in duo tone blue....atlantic blue on top and azure blue on bottom alf it looks real nice and a real looker. Here is a pic of our resto metro: We have had our metro vdp auto since early 1999 and we plan to kep it forever. And our second metro the resto one autoL we have had since 2003, it has been of the road since 2003 and is now on a SORN as its being restored in the garage.....hence the sorn. We also have another car for everyday use and family use e.t.c we have a 2001 51 plate rover 45 Ie 1.4 which all the family loves. I look foward to staying on this gr8t forum! Thanks, Danny

Hi Danny welcome to the register and although Minis are my first love i do like Metros too,im soo glad they didnt replace the Mini in the end but feel there was room in BL,s range for them both ;D I allways saw the metro as the natural progression to the ADO 16 and i love the early metros especially though love the later ones too Your metro looks like a good base and we look forward to your updates keep the photos comming and we look forward to following your restoration ;D Huggz Jodie

Hi Thanks for the warm welcome message Very true, i too like the early metro's but because i've got used to a MK2 metro in the family and what with us having two MK2 metro's i mostly love MK2 ones the later types. I dont realy like the Rover metro's like the 1992,3,4 types but i do also love the rover 100 with the new smile look in the front. No probs hopefully...i will try and upload pics as i take em. PLEASE NOTE that you can see more more! pics of the resto from start till now! on "metroownersclub"- www.metroownersclub.org/Simply go into metro gallery -then go into section 1985-1990 and look for the topic with the heading of "E519 UKG metro 1.3 auto Resto" There are loads and loads if picstures! If you cannot see then then plz register with the metroownersclub then you should be able to see all the pics i've posted up for my dad. You DON'T have to own a metro to join or anything like that Kind regards, Danny

Last batch of pics now. some include my dads other metro our rare 1988 metro vdp auto in duo tone blue and of our 2001 rover 45 Ie 1.4. And a pic of my dad welding a new rear wheel arch top our metro vdp down his work place. The grit stone chips are under the metro because sometimes when it's parking after it's been driven fast it leaks oil. Only happens now and then . Big long deep scratch.. I done it whilst i reversed the car. Plain dash now has dash ma and wood effect ...lush Drivers seat claned and now has new headrest, soft and tiltable! Of course i just zoomed in and yes i did wore a welding mask for safety i just put the camera in front and pressed the button! Thanks for loking. Please feel free to reply with a comment or whatever . Thanks......Danny.
