Yay! They've finally agreed planning permission for my garage!
Basically last year I started building but misinterpreted the planning regs. I applied for retrospective permission, and the council planning department were happy to support it. But a neighbour objected, and managed to find some dodgy councillor who swallowed his side of the story hook, line and sinker and failed to ask me at all. She memo'd all her planning committee cronies - the content of which we only discovered at the appeal stage - and as a result we were done up like a kipper at the planning committee meeting.
So we appealed, and the appeal result has come through in our favour! We've just lost six months when I could have finished it off and started working in it - got so much junk stashed in the old garage now I couldn't even get a roundnose engine bay under cover, let alone a whole car in, so the new one will be most welcome. Looking forward to having storage space, lifting space and enough room to work on two cars indoors!

That is good news Just need to finish it off now. It'll be a massive improvement being indoors. I don't have room in my garage for the mini and know how miserable it can be working outsde at this time of year. I expect that you'll soon find that you've expanded to fill all this space!
