We've got some replacement black dash rails to replace the brown ones we currently have. I've never done it before but have heard they can be a bit of a pig to replace - especially the top rail.
Any advice or tips?

the top rail is held on with three nuts, one in the middle (with a plate to span the hole where the ash tray used to sit and one at each end. It can be awkward to change if the windscreen is in. The bottom rail is a bit easier as it is basically held in with clips that hold the chrome strip on at the topside. The two screws that hold the heater up at the front also "trap"part of the bottom of the lower dash rail. Good luck.

Thanks Chris, did it today. Top rail was a bit awkward to get in but otherwise no problems (except a leaking heater hose afterwards).

Hi, I am replacing my lower dash rail at the moment. Can you let me know if you attach the chrome strip before or after you fit it to the metal rail of the car. Also did you use glue?
