It should be at some of the shows this year, When it's finally on the road. I hope to get the bonnet and grille on by a week this weekend. Fitted one of the new wheels last night. Looks huge. I'll be looking out for it! I'm putting a few finishing touches to my garage, like rendering and screeding the floor, then I'll have time and space to get my restos moving again. Only have until December to get Evy the Clubman ready for Linzie (it's about the same colour as the Greenie!)

the Greenie is BRG but there are about 10 variants of it. I started with green 25 but it was too light and too yellow. I finally used Green 29 as it's darker and less yellow.

The Greenie is now nearly finished. I've finally got the interior finished and dash back in (for about the 4th time). finally got the hazards working too. Just got to bleed the brakes and adjust the track rod ends and a little bit of snagging and that's it. Just got to give it a polish and hopefully I'll be able to drive it out of the garage this weekend.

It's looking really good. I bet you can't wait to drive it. Is it off for MOT soon?

The Greenie is almost finished now. The bonnet fits without touching where it's not supposed to. I had to modify the locking bolt to get it to do so. The radio is in and the gear lever gaiter. Just got to Waxoyl it now and it can come out of the garage. I've had a look at insurance again and got it down to £184 fully comp with my daughter on it as well. Hopefully it will be on the road on the 1st

That seems to be a really good price for insurance considering the modifications that you have made. I bet the excitement's building as the first drive gets closer

That's an amazing price for such a modified car! I'm paying £139 for Skye (though I do have Evy and Elfie on the same policy too now.) How old is your daughter? My son would love to be insured on the Minis but he's not quite 19 and they won't touch him.

My daughter is 28. Over 25 years old and the premiums drop rapidly. I managed to get the Greenie waxoyled underneath yesterday. There was a slight problem when the pipe partially came away from the handle and sprayed me and rear wing with waxoyl. It doesn't taste too good either. Then I dropped my glasses and stood on them. That's the last job out of the way. I'll give it a polish today and perhaps get it out of the garage under it's own power,if it's not raining. Insurance next week and get it booked in for the MOT. Hopefully on the road for the 1st June

Where's the Greenie gone? the garage is empty. Oh here it is. It decided to come out for some fresh air Then it went back in as it started to rain. The dash will have to come out again as the AFR gauge is not working since I fitted the radio. A plug has come out at the back probably and bit of work to the bonnet. Tracking needs doing but I've ordered a Gunson Trakrite to have a go myself, better than £30 a time at Kwikfit. and I've my daughter's to do when the new rack is fitted.

And you can't get thicker than a Kwik Fit fitter... I go to a local independent where they usually charge me £15. I used to teach about four of their fitters. Last time I said What do I owe you. He replied "Nothing. I was a right tw*t at school, I know that now, that's my payback!" It doesn't happen often, but it's nice when it does!

I got it insured for my daughter and me. £175 fully comp, 6,000miles a year and agreed value. My Gunson Trakrite arrived yesterday and when I checked the rear wheels had 1 degree toe in and front were about 1/4 degree toe out both sides, not bad for a guess. That saved me £30 at the local Kwikfit and another £30 when I change the rack and rod ends on my daughter's.

It went for the MOT yesterday and it sailed through, very low emissions 0.11% CO and 13 ppm hydracarbons and that is without a CAT. I've just taxed it so it's time for fun, fun, fun.

The Greenie went to Lancashire and back, yesterday. Nearly 200 miles on the clock now. I filled it up at ASDA in Colne 110 miles on the clock and 11 litres to fill to the same level as last time, about 45 MPG at around 55MPH. I think the exhaust might be blowing a bit and there are some clonking sounds from underneath that want investigating. The rear suspension wants raising as it's settled again. I know this as I threw it into a tight corner (To impress my dad) and I heard the O/S rear wheel rubbing and now it's raining. The garage has someone else's mini in being prepped for a paint job so the work will have to be done on the drive

Sounds like you're having loads of fun in it! Is it as good as you hoped it would be?
You'll soon have the teething troubles ironed out.

The big problem is holding it back whilst running in. It just wants to go

As there is no carb at the back of the engine there is quite a bit of space for the blower to sit above the exhaust pipes. SC assures me that it will fit. It just depends on the price now. I might have a run round and let you have a spin in it, Leanne.

The Greenie is almost run in now. It's been to a few mini shows and I've discovered it's got a couple of vices. In the lower gears if you "Boot it"it pulls to the right quite a bit and will also spin the wheels (13 x7's) in 1st and 2nd and it did it in 3rd too the other weekend. this is on dry roads too. I'm going to adjust the suspension set up to reduce the torque steer. Great for right handers though

I found out the other week it will almost spin the tyres in third gear as I found on the M6 on a dry road. My daughter has "Borrowed it" at the moment and left me hers. I can't see her wanting to go back to a 998 after driving the Greenie so I'm thinking of taking my spare 1275 to Specialist Components for a "Make over", for her mini. She out accelerated a Golf that was trying to overtake her.

Specialist Components does some high end parts and they are nice people, im gonna do the 5 port fi in a few weeks, but i need to find a 40psi mpi pump ahead of time,
have you got your engine set up on the rollers or did Specialist Components do that in house?
i saw the super charge k set up a few days ago in person, its a very nice set up

I quite like it too. My daughter has had it for the last few weeks and she likes it too. I can't see here going back to her 998, tuned as it is. I might have the 1275 out of the clubby reworked at Specialist components for her The engine has not been on the rolling road or Dyno. The ECU mapping is as delivered, as it has been developed on the dyno and the engine will deliver 130 BHP
